Common Meditation Types:

Concentration Meditation:

Being one of the simpler meditation types, this practice focuses on breathing, visualization, praying, chanting, which occupies the mind thus reducing random thoughts. The benefits begin with relaxation, increased focus and creativity on to some of the more advanced meditation types.

Mindfulness Meditation:

This practice is one of the preferred meditation types being an awareness of the environmental surroundings including the sensations, sights, sounds, scents, feelings, without involvement, reaction or attachment within the present. This conditions one to live in the moment as opposed to attention to busy, scattering thoughts. A walking meditation would be perfect.

Zen Meditation:

Zen meditation is a 2,500 year old practice which has spread to many parts of the world. Reaching enlightenment through the process of deep meditation is experiential. The Zen monks of the past had spent up to 7 years in a cave to reach this ultimate spiritual state of consciousness. Within the Zen sitting position, with a distinct focus on the breathing, breath,  body and mind unite as one. After much practice, experience and live as who you really are.

Vipassana Meditation:

This mindfulness meditation is an art form which began over 2,500 years ago in ancient India. The teachings focus on life as it really is, meaning the true nature of reality, knowing the self. Life transformation through observation and contemplation, which entail desires, feelings, thoughts, and perhaps the soul. This technique is taught in various places beginning with a 10 day course, typically covering the fundamentals. Donations fund the centers by graduates so others may benefit from the teachings.

Taoist Meditation:

This is a more relaxed form of meditation, the primary focus being on physical and emotional energy work used for healing and the living of a long life. The techniques have been used and perfected for thousands of years, most involving movement of the physical body. Used are standing, walking and sleeping meditations. More advanced  meditation types include spiritual journeys, which can be profound. The desired outcome is calmness, tranquility and peacefulness. Tai Chi and QiGong practices involve movement while collecting life energy between  Earth and sky. Feel the universe recharge you as you  thrive within harmony and well-being.

Easy Meditation

Filed under:  easy meditation  by:  admin

If you have access to a hill, consider an evening hike. Climb as far as you are comfortable. You could concentrate on a walking meditation and therefore arrive receptive to the gifts that await. Your quest for an easy meditation involves a direct path of moonlight, on an enchanting full moon night.

There are certain areas which offer a higher vibrational frequency, which do enhance the experience, yet are not necessary. If you live on the flat lands, and have stimulated a desire, this practice works wonders for the spirits.

Reaching the summit, face toward the moon, take a few calming breaths, point in your toes, and bend your knees just slightly. With palms facing the stars, slowly close your eyes until you are looking through your lashes as you line up your nostrils with the moonlight. Slowly breathe in and accept the moon’s energy, feeling the light penetrate into the core of your being. Your are collecting the mysterious energy which is radiating from the moon inside of your body, offering vitality and healing. This easy meditation experience promises energy which will last 30 days. Should walking not be your pleasure, this would be a beautiful ceremony to practice at water’s edge, a garden, or desert.

One interesting benefit I have experienced following a full moon meditation being I had harvested a very high level of energy which greatly enhanced my habitual bedtime meditation in the most profound ways. In combination with an advanced meditation audio, I began to experience higher, specific states of consciousness on that very night. Finally, after two years of nightly  practice!

What’s this about learning meditation? Congratulations on making the best decision of your life!  There is nothing to it!  If you can commit yourself to daily practice, your work is now done. After a couple of weeks, you may wonder why you had waited so long. The benefits of learning meditation are highly pleasurable and your emotional health will soar.

Learning Meditation

A Beginner: In the very beginning you will use techniques to  focus on the breathing. Begin to relax and control body and mind. You begin to feel there is much more to you than your current physical body. Begin to manifest your secret dreams and highest desires.

An Intermediate: As comfort and confidence progress, you naturally begin to experience an inner sense of freedom and a lightness that makes you want more. The releasing of certain thoughts and feelings have set you free- at last.

An Advanced: Once you you are ready to explore and experience your higher self, you can meditate for longer periods of time. You may desire Astral Travel, or a Shamanic Journey. The destinations to be experienced are endless, as they are being created by you!

During your meditation, you want to stop active thoughts from flowing, without causing resistance to them within yourself. The resistance will distract you from your meditative state.

There are several techniques to distract the brain: The OM method, white noise, chanting, etc.

If you experience difficulty in stopping physical movement, try a walking meditation. A walk through the forest can be enchanting, offering a sense of well-being and promote healing. There may be a city park nearby, a quiet bike path through a small town, or the delightful seashore. A daily walk can do wonders for the human spirit!
